PING

Privacy policy

Last updated 2026-09-09. Ping is made by Nick Saulino. This page describes what the Ping app and website collect.

What is stored

Your gameplay record: for every daily gauntlet you finish, the taps you spent and the par on each level and the time you finished it; your streak count and the last day that counted towards it; and your arcade wins, losses, current win streak and best win streak. The record also carries a version number and the time it last changed. Alongside it Ping keeps a gauntlet you are part-way through, so you can close the app and come back to it, and two settings: whether the sounds are on, and whether you have seen the how-to-play card. That is the whole list. No contacts, no location, no advertising identifiers, and nothing that names you or your device.

Where it is stored

On your device, and only on your device. On Android and iOS that is the app's own private storage; in a browser it is local storage belonging to this site. This version of Ping has no cloud sync: your record is never uploaded, and nothing you do in the game is sent anywhere. Every board is generated on your device from the date, which is how everyone gets the same daily gauntlet without anything being fetched.

Accounts and sign-in

There are none in this version. Ping has no accounts, no sign in with Google or Apple, and no cloud backup, so there is no name, email address or account identifier for it to receive. The Settings screen says the same thing: "Cloud sync is off in this build." The sign-in library is still built into the browser version, though, and it fetches a Google script on page load whether or not sign-in is switched on; see below. If a later version turns sign-in and sync on, this page will be updated before that version ships.

What is not collected

Ping shows no ads and contains no ad SDK, and it does no analytics tracking: there is no analytics SDK in the app at all. Nobody receives your gameplay record, because it never leaves your device.

What the browser version loads

This website, and the game's own files (the page, the code, the graphics engine, the sounds), are served by Vercel, whose standard server logs (IP address, request time) exist for security and are not used to profile you.

Two things come from Google instead, and both are requested by the browser as the page loads, before you touch anything. The first is a Google Identity Services script from accounts.google.com: the sign-in library loads it on start-up even though sign-in is switched off in this build and no account is ever created. The second is a font file from fonts.gstatic.com, fetched when the page needs a character the bundled fonts do not cover. Making either request tells Google your IP address and your browser's user agent. Neither one carries any part of your game, your record or your progress, and the Android and iOS apps make neither.

Deleting your data

Everything Ping stores is on your device, so deleting it means removing it from your device. There is no cloud copy and no account to close.

On Android and iOS, uninstall Ping. In a browser, clear this site's data for ping.nicksaulino.com in your browser's settings, under cookies and site data. If your phone backs your apps up to your own Google or Apple account, that backup is made by the operating system rather than by Ping, and your device's backup settings control it. Children

Ping is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information beyond what is described above.
